Irene's beautiful new cookbook, My Cypriot Table, is finally out (and it's already a bestseller)! To celebrate we're co-hosting a feast that brings together two great Mediterranean cooking traditions: the delicious flavours of Irene's native Cyprus and the bold sunny tastes of Sicily (prepared tonight by Cucinato chef Bruno di Sarno).

The cuisines of these two great Mediterranean islands have a lot in common - ingredients, cooking techniques, family style eating, the blend of Eastern and Western influences - so we’re’re excited to integrate the two traditions for tonight's meal!  

During the dinner we’ll introduce each dish, and Irene will share her inspirational story: coming to Canada as a refugee in the 1970s; becoming farm-to-table advocate, and successful food stylist, recipe developer and TV personality; and now, a best selling cookbook author! 

During the meal you'll also enjoy wine pairings selected and presented by Kolonaki Group. And at the end of the evening you’ll take home your own copy of My Cypriot Table, signed of course by Irene!

Louvi and Laxana Bruschetta - Black-eyed pea and Swiss chard bruschetta

Elies Taskistes - Warm cracked green olives with coriander, garlic and lemon 

Sott'olio - Seasonal local produce preserved in olive oil (garlic scapes, asparagus)

Involtini di melanzane - Sicilian eggplant rolls with tomato, basil and scamorza
