About this experience

Before she was an award-winning, best-selling cookbook author Irene Matys was a long-time collaborator we always looked forward to working with. So we're thrilled to welcome her back to Cucinato Studio for a brand new intimate and interactive cooking class! 

Tonight we'll all be Irene's sous-chefs as she guides us through a menu of winter-themed dishes she's sellected from her beautiful 2025 book, My Cypriot Table. Greek-Cypriot comfort food is the them of tonight's meal: from the creamy, rustic Makaronia Vrasta (lemony pasta); to Yemista (slow roasted stuffed veggies); to irresistable Loukoumàdes (mini honey donuts). It might be a cold January night outside, but tonight's dinner will be overflowing with Meditteranean-style warmth! 

When we're done cooking, you'll be seated along with your host and fellow guests at a long harvest table to enjoy the dishes we've prepared together! 

MENU 

Welcome snack (Meze) 
Elies Tsakistes - Cracked green olives with coriander, garlic and lemon  
Melitzanosalata - Eggplant dip with lemon, mint and sesame 
Grilled pita 

First course 
Makaronia Vrasta - Warm lemony pasta with fresh mint and halloumi 

Main course 
Yemista - Stuffed roasted veggies (peppers, onions and zuchini) with ground meat, rice, herbs and spices 
Krambo Salata - Cypriot style cabbage salad with arugula, celery and red onion 

Dessert 
Loukoumàdes - Bite-sized Cypriot-Greek donuts with citrus and honey 

 

BEVERAGES 

A selection of wines, beers and soft drinks will be available for purchase at the event. Our wine list can be viewed here: https://cucinato.ca/collections/wines

We also offer corkage, the fee is $15 per bottle.

• Exchanges (one per ticket) permitted up to 5 days prior to the event.
• Tickets to Cucinato events are transferable - you can give them to someone else if you can’t attend (but please notify Cucinato in advance!)
