Ceci Bianchi della Murgia - White Chickpeas from Murgia

 Chickpea is the third crop for production in the world, just after soybeans and beans, it is among the oldest domesticated crops, thanks to its long roots it is resistant to drought, an excellent source of protein.

This particular variety comes from the area of Altamura, in the Puglia region, it is more widespread than the black chickpeas of the Murgia, because it is slightly more productive and more similar to the classic chickpea.

The white chickpeas of the Murgia lend themselves very well in combination with fried garlic and onion, accompanied by spaghetti, chicory and extra virgin olive oil.
