Women’s Wine & Chocolate Dinner Event

Cucinato partner / olive oil & wine producer Gaia Massai is back from the summer season on her farm in Chianti, and looking forward to re-starting her popular women’s wine dinner series, beginning with a collaboration with fellow Tuscan entrepreneur, Rosaria Giorgi.

Rosaria left a successful career in fashion back in 2017 to launch an innovative line of Sicilian chocolate called Xauxa. Her confections are proudly organic, vegan and fair trade and contain only three ingredients per product – organic cocoa and muscovado sugar cane, paired with one of Sicily’s finest natural products: pistachio, almond, orange and sea salt.

We are also excited to collaborate with executive chef Roberto Fracchione, who has crated an exquisite four-course meal around each of these four natural products. Each course will be paired with an Italian wine selected by Gaia, and at the end of the meal we will all enjoy a selection of Rosaria’s delectable chocolates!

Antipasti (featured ingredient: sea salt)

Crostini with Prosciutto Crudo
Robiola – Soft-ripened cheese from Northern Italy
Focaccia with coarse salt and rosemary
Insalata Siciliana (fennel, sun dried black olives, orange, oil and salt)

Wine pairing: Planeta Rose’ Igt 2018 Round and juicy blend of Nero D’Avola and Syrah with peach and melon notes. Saline minerality and citrus finish.

Pasta caserecce con Pesto alla Trapanese – Rustic pasta with almond-based Sicilian pesto

Wine pairing: Grillo Vino Lauria Organic Igt 2018 From the northern coast of Sicily, a classic Mediterranean bianco with plenty of tropical fruit, citrus and sage hints.

Secondo: (featured ingredient: pistachio)

Arista al pistacchio ai pistacchi – pork tenderloin with pistacchio

Tuberi arrostiti – roasted tubers
Insalata verde

Wine pairing: Gulfi Nerojbleo Nero D’Avola Doc This 100% Nero D’Avola delivers scents of ripe black fruits, undergrowth, anise and licorice with silky tannic structure.

Arancia Torta arancia e olio di olive – Orange olive oil cake with dark chocolate shavings

Xauxa pistachio, almond, orange and sea salt chocolate

Wine pairing: Canti Estate Moscato d’asti Docg 2018 Typical moscato with apricot jam, mango and honey aromas.
