Cooking with Truffles Series: Hearty Winter Dishes

Black truffles are once again in season in Italy, so we’re teaming up with Toronto’s First Lady of Truffles, Wanda Srdoc, for another fun, interactive evening of Cooking with Fresh Truffles!

Wanda’s co-host for the evening will be chef / food blogger Suzie Durigan. Anyone who follows Suzie knows she’s a “triple threat” of delicious recipes, beautiful food-styling and irreverent humour.

Tonight, Wanda and Suzie are going to show you how to make two delicious, simple-to-prepare winter soups that perfectly complement the taste and aroma of fresh black truffles: one made with seafood, the other with hearty seasonal vegetables.

We’ll also prepare a delicious truffle-infused tart, made with cream and dark chocolate.

At the end of the class we’ll sit down together to enjoy the delicious meal we’ve prepared!

Zuppa di tuberi con tartufo – A hearty root vegetable soup topped with freshly saved truffles

Cioppino con tartufo – Rustic, stew-like seafood soup finished with fresh truffles

Green salad topped with truffled nut brittle

Crostata con crema, tartufi e cioccolato – truffle-infused cream pastry, topped with dark truffle chocolate

WINE / CORKAGE – a selection of Italian wine will be available for purchase. If you would like to bring your own wine there is $15 corkage fee.
